Text Box: Roosevelt elk have very small home ranges compared to Rocky Mountain elk, with no migration from summer to winter. Most will live out their lives within a mile or two of where they were born. They will use the same feeding and bedding areas all year round. This fact can be a real advantage to hunters. The nice bulls we see in the summer will most likely still be somewhere in the general area during the fall hunting seasons. However, finding them is still not easy.
