As far as we know this is the youngest person to ever catch a fish.  This is my granddaughter, Hope, who caught this rainbow trout at age one, in July of 2007.  She is holding the bead we used to hook the fish.   She was guided by her dad and her grandpa, Dennis Eugene, (holding Hope and the fish.)

This is Joseph Bakke with his first deer at age 13.

This my grandson Jacob Cook with his very first fish at two years of age, a rainbow trout.

JD Fennell with his first fish.

Dany Rains with her first fish at age 14.

Joe Bakke with his first elk at age 14.

This is Sammy Moore, age 10.  Sammy has been in numerous foster homes since her birth.  Catching these fish when she lived with my son, Gerald was one of the few positive things in her life.

Allexis Cook with her first fish at age three.

Noah Campos from Baker City, Oregon     with  his first fish at age five.

Anna Pedro, with her first fish at age three.  She is very proud even though it's only a bullhead.  She couldn't have been happier with a new world record salmon.

Here is my niece, Hannah Cook with her first elk she  took on a youth hunt in southwestern Oregon in 2005.   Next year she plans on getting a bull - a BIG bull she says.

These three brothers from San Diego, California caught their dinner of rainbow trout.

First steelhead for Jacob Cook, at age ten.

First Fish for Halley - at age 8

These are photos of handicapped classes we took fishing at the kids trout pond at the Millicoma Interpretive Center.  For most of these kids, it was the first time they  had ever gone fishing.  The next day one class invited us to come to their classroom and eat the trout with them.  They were delicious.

This is Matthew Glenn with his first deer at age 14.  He took it in the Tioga Unit in 2007.  Matthew had a strong desire to hunt and his father had no experience, so they came to hunt with us.

First deer for Jacob Cook at age ten.  He shot it as a participant of the Oregon youth mentor program.  He was allowed to shoot it using his grandpa's rifle and tag under the supervision of grandpa.

Hope Cook with a 2 pound, 16 inch raiabow trout.

This is Max, one of the happiest, most cheerful people I know, despite being in a wheelchair and not able to speak.  He also has very limited use of  use his hands.  Helping him catch this trout was one of the most successful guiding experiences I have had.  Someone getting a record book bull elk couldn't be any happier than Max with his first fish.  He thanked us over and over again - in sign language of course.

Jeramiah Cook, age four with a nice rainbow trout.  His biggest fish to date at two pounds.

Brady Dane - age 11 with a nice       rainbow trout.
